RHEA COUNTY, TN. (WRCB) -- An animal shelter volunteer has been charged with animal cruelty in Rhea County Thursday.
The sheriff's office says Richard Orlowske, a former volunteer of the Rhea County Animal Shelter, has been charged with animal cruelty in connection with an animal rescue service he's been running from his home.
Investigators say they found a "horrible" scene at Orlowske's home on Back Valley Road.
Orlowske was recently dismissed as a volunteer, and has been under investigation for alleged acts at the shelter.
Channel 3 has a crew en route to the scene.
